A Few Degrees From Release

The viewer sees a plain white door that’s part of the exhibition space. Suddenly there is a loud bang heard from behind the door. The viewer begins to anticipate another bang. Pressure starts to build up; you start to wonder if something dangerous behind the door is about to break free. BANG BANG! The whole space vibrates from the punches. It starts to be uncomfortable being there, waiting for another bang. You want to leave the space. The loud bangs represent the "beast" that is climate change, and the closed door symbolising our ignorance that masks the problem, creates an allegory for our collective inability to face the consequences of our actions. The piece embodies the urgency of addressing climate change and the need for society to acknowledge its role in perpetuating the crisis.
